Laser cutting and engraving is one of the services that we provide. We can cut or engrave designs from your files or create CAD drawings based on your drafts and art works. The parts that come out from the laser cutter can be hand finished by our model makers or used straight away for display.

We are able to cut and engrave variety of materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, plastic, acrylic, paper, leather and more. Everything within 600mm x 900mm can be cut in one piece or larger builds can be designed as a puzzle structure which can be easily assembled.

Laser Cutting & Engraving

Laser cutting is a fabrication process that utilises a thin, focused, laser beam to cut and engrave materials into custom designs, patterns, and shapes based on a CAD drawing. The cutting is done using CO2 laser tube and the help of mirrors specifically placed to guide the laser beam to the desired position on to the used material. This fabrication process is non-contact, thermal-based therefore perfect for wide-range of materials. The laser technology gives the ability to accurately cut intricate designs which will be almost impossible to produce by hand. The advantages of the laser cutting machine includes precision, repeatability, speed, cost-effectiveness, versatility, etc.

Laser cutting and engraving is one of the most common technologies used in a model building workshop. This method is widely used by model makers especially in architectural models due to the huge reduction of production time. The majority of the 2D model parts are produced using the laser machine. We are able to

engrave highly accurate decking and cladding for our yacht and ship models through the use of the fine and precise laser beam.

We use this technology to build intricate lettering, plaques and signs for displays.
