Firefighting Helmets Custom Scale Models
Commissioned miniature replicas crafted for charity in support of UK firefighters
Type of the project: Custom Scale Models
This project was divided into multiple phases: two involved large-scale batch production of hundreds of identical custom miniature firefighting helmets, while others required the creation of unique, one-off designs. All pieces were crafted with precision for a charitable initiative supporting UK firefighters.
Purpose: Support Charity Fundraising
Client: Adam Tubby
We are proud to have been commissioned to manufacture highly detailed custom scale models of firefighter helmets from two leading brands: MSA and Rosenbauer. These precision-crafted replicas capture the authentic design and features of the original helmets used by UK firefighters.
Our client, Adam Tubby, a dedicated firefighter, has commissioned these bespoke models as part of a special charity initiative. The miniature helmets will be sold to collectors and supporters, with all proceeds going directly to raise funds for a UK firefighters charity.
By combining expert craftsmanship with a meaningful cause, these custom scale models not only celebrate the bravery and commitment of firefighters but also help support their community through charitable fundraising.
The project involved producing several hundred custom scale models of MSA and Rosenbauer firefighter helmets, delivered in multiple stages. Alongside the main production, we also created a series of one-off pieces featuring unique styles and variations. To ensure absolute accuracy, we received original helmets from both brands, which were 3D scanned and reverse engineered into precise CAD models.
Most of the helmet replicas were 3D printed and meticulously post-processed by hand to preserve detail and durability. One of the more technically challenging elements — the clear visor — was vacuum formed to replicate the complex curves of the real design.
Each miniature helmet was finished in authentic colours, matching the originals used across the UK fire services. We also replicated the colour schemes and insignia that distinguish different ranks, from Crew Manager to Chief Fire Officer.
Balancing museum-quality detail with cost-effective production was critical, as these models were intended for charitable sale. Every step of the process was carefully managed to maintain the highest standards while ensuring the project remained financially viable, helping maximise the funds raised for the firefighters charity.
The final results of the project exceeded expectations. The custom scale models of the MSA and Rosenbauer firefighter helmets were manufactured with precision, and both our team and our client, firefighter Adam Tubby, were extremely pleased with the outcome.
The first batch of miniature helmets sold quickly, confirming strong public interest and support for the cause. This immediate success not only validated the design and production process, but also meant that the fundraising goals were met — making the project a true achievement in both craftsmanship and charitable impact.
By combining high-quality scale model production with a meaningful fundraising mission, we’re proud to have contributed to supporting the firefighting community through this unique and rewarding collaboration.
