BP is a British multinational energy company and one of the world’s most influential oil and gas supermajors, operating across more than 70 countries. Renowned for its innovation, engineering excellence, and commitment to complex offshore developments, BP plays a pivotal role in meeting global energy demands.
The FPSO Glen Lyon is a state-of-the-art floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, central to BP’s multi-billion-pound Quad 204 Project in the North Sea. Designed for extended field life and exceptional operational efficiency, it represents one of BP’s most advanced offshore engineering achievements.
This commission was a bespoke spin-off from our larger BP Quad 204 Project display model. The FPSO Glen Lyon—a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel at the core of the Quad 204 redevelopment—was selected as the subject for a precision-crafted desktop miniature.
Our brief was to design and produce a 1/1000 scale model as an exclusive corporate gift for BP’s CEO. The model needed to combine accurate engineering representation with an elegant, presentation-ready finish, reflecting both the vessel’s significance in offshore operations and the prestige of the recipient.
This highly detailed miniature was first 3D modelled with precision CAD to capture the complex geometry of the FPSO Glen Lyon. The components were produced in resin using high-resolution SLA printing to ensure exceptional accuracy and surface quality.
Each part underwent meticulous hand post-processing and assembly before being finished with fine airbrushed paintwork to achieve a refined, presentation-grade appearance. The completed model was mounted on a custom-made display base and protected beneath a crystal-clear acrylic cover, ensuring both durability and an elegant corporate presentation.
This model, a direct sequel to our BP Quad 204 Project commission, was completed and delivered simultaneously to BP’s headquarters in London. Presented as an exclusive corporate gift for the company’s CEO, it served as both a finely crafted keepsake and a testament to BP’s landmark offshore engineering achievements.
