Valaris is a global leader in offshore drilling services, operating one of the industry’s most advanced and versatile fleets. Over many years, they have entrusted us with the restoration, rebranding, and upgrading of their extensive collection of oil and gas scale models. This long-standing partnership is a testament to the craftsmanship, precision, and reliability we deliver in every offshore and energy-sector project.
For many years, Polaris Models has been commissioned by Valaris, a global leader in offshore drilling, to restore, rebrand, and upgrade their collection of offshore oil and gas scale models. This long-standing collaboration began with a major project for their newly established office in London.
The initial commission involved the rebranding of several models, including jack-up rigs and a drillship, following the merger of Ensco and Rowan under the new Valaris identity. The models, which previously carried legacy branding, needed a full transformation to reflect the new corporate image.
A key part of the project was the drillship scale model, which was to be displayed as a centrepiece within the office lobby. The concept required it to be seamlessly integrated into a central wall and visible from both sides. Our team restored and rebranded the model in our workshop, then carefully designed a bespoke mounting and installation system tailored to the space and architectural requirements of the lobby.
Alongside the drillship, several jack-up rig models underwent full restoration and rebranding. Each model was mounted on a custom-built plinth, designed to complement the new office interiors, and protected with clear acrylic covers for both safety and presentation.
Following the successful execution of this first project, Polaris Models continued to support Valaris with similar model refurbishment projects across their UK offices. Over time, we restored, upgraded, and rebranded the entire collection in both London and Aberdeen.
One of the final and most complex projects involved the restoration and improvement of a large-scale oil rig model, which was over 2 metres in length, delivered for their Aberdeen location. The model was carefully updated to meet display and branding standards, reflecting both the technical precision and visual quality expected by Valaris.
This ongoing partnership highlights Polaris Models’ commitment to excellence in oil and gas scale model restoration, rebranding, and high-end presentation solutions for the energy sector.
Since our very first collaboration with Valaris, working on their offshore scale model collection has been a truly rewarding experience. Each project has run smoothly, thanks to their clear communication, efficient coordination, and the professionalism of their entire team. Valaris combines a high standard of excellence with a warm and approachable attitude, making every stage of the work—from restoration and rebranding to installation—a pleasure.
The consistent positive feedback we receive from Valaris is both encouraging and motivating. Their appreciation for our attention to detail and craftsmanship reinforces our dedication to delivering the highest quality oil and gas scale models. Our ongoing relationship with Valaris stands as a testament to the value of trust, mutual respect, and a shared passion for quality in the energy sector.
