Defined by Precision
Polaris Models produces bespoke ship and boat models for clients who value technical excellence, striking detail, and purposeful design. From riverboats and supply vessels to merchant ships and ferries, each model is custom-built to reflect the character and complexity of the original.

Crafting Precision Models of Ships and Boats
Designing a bespoke ship or boat model is a demanding process that blends naval engineering, technical drawing, and skilled modelmaking. Each piece is a custom creation — not just a display, but a refined representation of the vessel’s structure and spirit.
Building a model takes hundreds of hours and begins with thorough research, including gathering specifications, drawings, and references. From there, we develop a detailed CAD design in scale and proceed to manufacture the model with an uncompromising focus on accuracy and quality.
Whether commissioned ahead of a vessel’s launch, during construction, or long after years of service, our models preserve the unique identity of each craft — from coastal boats to industrial fleets.
Scaled to Purpose, Built to Impress
We offer custom ship and boat models in a wide range of scales — from compact desktop pieces to statement models over two metres in length. Each project begins with a conversation about how and where the model will be displayed, ensuring the scale highlights both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Whether it’s a sleek, minimal display for an executive office or a centrepiece installation in a company lobby or museum, we’ll recommend the most suitable proportions to balance detail, visual impact, and practicality.

From concept to keel — every model is a tribute to purpose, precision, and craft.
A Collaborative and Precise Process
Every model starts with careful research — collecting original plans, technical data, and photographic references. In cases where no reliable drawings exist, we can develop the geometry from scratch or take direct measurements from the vessel itself.
From there, we create a detailed 3D CAD model tailored to scale, which serves as the foundation for production. Our workshop combines advanced technologies — including a fleet of high-resolution 3D printers, CNC machinery, and laser cutters — with traditional techniques to achieve both precision and character.
While machines ensure dimensional accuracy, the final stages are always in the hands of our expert craftsmen. Assembly, post-processing, painting, and finishing are all performed manually to reach museum-grade standards. Throughout the process, we work alongside naval architects and maintain close communication with our clients to bring their vision to life.
Materials, Finishes, and Custom Display Solutions
To deliver lasting quality and visual refinement, we use a carefully selected range of premium materials — including resins, metals, composites, woods, and engineered plastics. Each model benefits from a tailored combination of materials that balance strength, precision, and aesthetics.
We offer a wide spectrum of customisations: internal cutaway sections, illuminated interiors, advanced paintwork, realistic weathering, and fully detailed deck or engine layouts. Whether the model is designed to be sleek and modern, highly technical, or display the wear of time, the finish is always purposeful and precise.
Most models are presented on a bespoke plinth with a custom-fitted display cover, ensuring long-term protection and professional presentation in any setting.
Engineered with depth. Built to endure. Modelled to inspire.

Built Under One Roof, Guided by Expertise
Polaris Models is a specialist studio, not a large-scale manufacturer. Every stage of production happens in-house, allowing us to maintain complete control over quality, timelines, and confidentiality.
Our team includes naval architects, engineers, and master model makers who work together to deliver complex, one-of-a-kind projects. This close collaboration ensures technical integrity at every step, from CAD design to final assembly.
We adapt our process to each client. Some prefer to be deeply involved; others entrust us entirely. In both cases, we provide regular updates and total peace of mind — from initial brief to seamless delivery and installation. Where required, we operate under strict confidentiality agreements and NDAs.

From Compact Boats to Major Commercial Vessels
We create bespoke ship and boat models for a diverse clientele — from private owners and collectors to shipbuilders, design firms, museums, and maritime companies. Regardless of the scale or purpose, every model is approached with precision, care, and deep technical understanding.
Our team is equipped to replicate virtually any type of vessel, including tankers, ferries, riverboats, patrol craft, offshore support vessels, and more. While this page highlights contemporary and 20th-century examples, our capabilities span all eras of naval history. Whether the subject is modern or historic, our standards of accuracy, craftsmanship, and finish remain uncompromised.
Each model is custom-made to suit its intended setting — a corporate showcase, a collector’s gallery, a museum display, or a design presentation. Whether you’re commissioning a single iconic ship or a full fleet of scaled replicas, we deliver results that speak for themselves.
We also provide restoration and rebranding services for existing ship and boat models. Whether modernising an older piece or restoring a legacy display, our team ensures the same level of detail, care, and precision. Learn more here ›
